Water Tower Design Contest Winners

4/10/2024

After 30 years, Dearborn’s Water Tower is getting a new look!  The City Council wanted to involve the community in this decision, so they hosted a design contest.  The purpose of the contest was to gather creative ideas from community members to inspire the new water tower design.  Maguire, an industry leader in the United States for the fabrication, construction, and maintenance of water storage towers and tanks was chosen to bring the new water design into reality.  The City of Dearborn is currently in collaboration with Maguire in producing and creating the final rendering of the new water tower design, which is hoped to be announced at the next city board meeting.

Several community members submitted designs that helped inspire the final design for the water tower.  The City of Dearborn Board of Alderman selected the winners at a special meeting in March and congratulated the winner at the April board meeting.

Category winners are:

  • Pre-K – Second Grade is Lucina Ball
  • Third – Fifth Grade is Hannah Larsen
  • Sixth – Ninth Grade no entries received
  • Tenth Grade and Above is Jerry Godbey

Each winner received a gift card and certificate for inspiring the new water tower design.  The City of Dearborn would like to thank everyone who submitted designs.  The community was able to view the water tower design entries at the April board meeting and will be on display at City Hall, 100 Short Street till the end of April.
